Using images and words students will create journals and tell their story, with a focus on bookbinding.Through various book structures, low-tech printing techniques, and drawing and writing prompts, students will come away with one-of-a-kind artists journals, exploring each individual's unique voice. We will discuss tips for maintaining a consistent writing and drawing practice and explore concept development. This class will use multiple techniques: drawing, writing, stenciling, altering photographs, and making paste paper to create their own artist journal. All materials provided.

In this all day class students will learn how to forge and weld steel, sew and rivet leather combining the hard metal and the soft leather to create your own unique piece of armor. Using images and words students will create journals and tell their story, with a focus on bookbinding.Through various book structures, low-tech printing techniques, and drawing and writing prompts, students will come away with one-of-a-kind artists journals, exploring each individual's unique voice. We will discuss tips for maintaining a consistent writing and drawing practice and explore concept development. This class will use multiple techniques: drawing, writing, stenciling, altering photographs, and making paste paper to create their own artist journal. All materials provided.
