Instructor: Rodrigo Tellez

Join Kamla Kakaria and Romson Bustillo for a week long printmaking intensive in Mexico City. We will be working with Maestro Rodrigo Tellez in his studio Tigres Ediciones in Cuauhtemoc in the heart of the city. This workshop combines 3 days of making art as well as 2 days of visiting artist studios. You will make an accordion book with layered images. We will be using Rodrigo's method of low tech lithography on aluminum plates and running them through an etching press for one layer with relief carving on linoleum plates for another layer. The other two days we will be visiting private artist studios not usually open to the public. We will have delicious Mexican food each day for lunch. We recommend coming early or staying later to explore the amazing amount of places to visit in Mexico City. Tuition includes lodging for seven nights (Saturday to Saturday) giving students a day to explore Mexico City before the workshop begins. Prerequisite: Some amount of Printmaking experience preferred
