Instructor: Elizabeth Weber
Are you looking for something fun and handmade to use when you're entertaining your family and friends during get togethers? Wow people with not just your cookies, but also your turning skills. In this one session class, you will learn the basics required to turn a platter that is the perfect centerpiece for any gathering. The class is an online learning course hosted via Microsoft Teams. Class time will rotate between 10-15 min live demos and students doing work on their lathe. Plan to have a place to put your laptop/phone to film yourself on the lathe as your instructor Elizabeth Weber will offer feedback as you turn. Students are welcome to ask questions as they come up. This class will be maxed out at 5 people to allow for quality feedback during everyone's turning time. Prerequisite: Beginning Woodturning. 10"-11" diameter kiln dried alder blanks are included in your supply fee, which are for local pick up only (no shipping). Kits will be available for pick up on Aug 13th from 3-6 pm or Aug 17th from 2-5 pm. Kit pick up will be contactless as they will be located on the covered porch of the Wood Studio at Pratt Fine Arts Center. Students must supply their own lathe and turning equipment. A full supply list will be emailed.
