Has all this time at home left you trying to declutter but not wanting to part with those little objects that remind you of a time of beachcombing, collecting, observing? Transform those little memories or your own creations into pewter and learn to create a mold and cast in pewter using a simple set up at home! This workshop will introduce a variety of mold making materials that work well for pewter casting and methods for casting pewter safely and successfully. Your instructor will guide you through making your own customized silicone rubber mold for a small found or made object/jewelry component. Heating pewter to cast into this mold and steps to finish your casting will leave you with a finished piece at the end of the workshop. Prerequisite: none.
*Students will provide their own tools and materials (shopping list provided upon registration). The minimum cost of required materials is approximately $80. Students receiving Tuition Assistance may request to borrow available tools from Pratt.
