This online class is designed to give students the fundamental skills for spoon carving. It is designed to teach you how to use two of the fundamental spoon carving tools: straight knife and a hook knife. The cost of the tools is roughly $50. You will have two green spoon blanks in your supply kit. The class will have prerecorded content to watch before class start date to learn the basic safe carving techniques. The live class will be spent having students carve spoons and receiving feedback and asking questions as they come up. Plan to have a place to put your laptop to film yourself as you work. The class will be maxed at 8 students. No Prerequisite. This course is instructed online, using Microsoft Teams. The live sessions will be recorded and available for 48 hours after the class is completed. Enrollment deadline is 11 days prior to class start. The supply kit can be sent to any address in the USA via USPS; please make sure your shipping address is correct while enrolling for the class. Students must supply their own tools; a full supply list with instructions will be emailed.
