This online class will introduce students to the techniques of working with sheet glass to do kiln forming. Students will learn to cut sheet glass, and go over the principals of using heat to fuse and shape glass. Each student will make their own hand made dish. This will be a fast-paced class, held over Microsoft Teams. There will be time in class, after demos, to work and ask questions, but some students may wish to continue developing their projects after class to refine them as well. Class content will be available to students for 48 hours after class finishes to allow students to review as they work outside of class. Supply kit will be available for pick up (no shipping) on 2/28 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm or 3/3 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Each student will also need to provide their own limited set of tools. A detailed supply list is available upon request and will be emailed prior to class. Supply kit includes some rental tools (Glass cutting tools) from Pratt. Detailed returning schedule will be discussed during the class. The deadline for registration of the class is February 22nd.
