The National Nordic Museum has partnered with Pratt Fine Arts Center to put together a virtual exhibition and landscape painting class for summer 2021. The virtual exhibit will complement the Museum’s installed temporary exhibition, Among Forests & Lakes: Landscape Masterpieces from the Finnish National Gallery. Students enrolled in a summer camp with Pratt Fine Arts will get a virtual tour from the curator of Among Forests & Lakes and will then create a landscape masterpiece of their own in response. The student work will be featured in a virtual exhibition displayed on the Museum's website, with the potential to show student work in a slideshow in the Museum galleries as well. As a part of participating in this camp, students will also get free admission for themselves and one accompanying adult to see Among Forests & Lakes in person. The exhibition will be on display at the National Nordic Museum through October 2021. // Among Forests & Lakes examines how Finnish artists have depicted the landscape of their native country from 1850s to the present day. The exhibition explores how the Finnish landscape and these works of art contributed to the creation of a Finnish national identity. With over 50 works in this exhibition, students from Pratt Fine Arts will gain a greater understanding of Nordic art history and the connections between art and culture in Finland.
