Intaglio printing is a technique in which flat pieces of metal (copper) are incised with hand tools as well as ferric chloride acid to create imagery.  In this 8-week class students will be introduced to techniques in drypoint, line etch, aquatint shading and how to combine these techniques.  Students will begin to understand how to plan multi-plate printing and layering with color. Techniques will be taught that show how to make editions (multiples) as well as unique prints.  Individual instructor attention will encourage experimentation and development of current work. Student Fridays available. Experienced Etchers welcome.
