Explore the world of jewelry making with one of the oldest techniques dating back thousands of years, wire wrapping. In this class you will learn to create decorative shapes and components without soldering or heating the wire. We will take a look at different kinds of wire, gauges, texturing, and how to connect the components. Using wire wrapping techniques students will make ear wire, snake shapes and a pendant. Prerequisite: None. Supply Fee: $20.
*Students will pick up a supply kit from Pratt prior to the first class. Students will need to provide their own hand tools based on a shopping list provided (this includes common jewelry tools such as a saw, files, etc). Students receiving Tuition Assistance may request to borrow a tool kit from Pratt. Please register at least one week prior to the class start date to have time for getting tools and supply kits.
