Knowing how to safely use a chainsaw can open up new worlds for woodworkers of all kinds, to make use of local trees that have fallen. Knowing how to safely use a chainsaw is also an invaluable skill for people who manage property, burn wood, or want to use a chainsaw in the yard. In this hands-on 2-day workshop, you will learn the physics of how a chainsaw works, how to protect yourself from the saw and other hazards, how to safely start and run a chainsaw, and how to safely approach various cutting situations. You will also learn basic chainsaw maintenance and how to change and sharpen a chain.
