Join Kamla Kakaria and Romson Regarde Bustillo at Producción Gráfica Zanate (https://www.facebook.com/tallerzanate) studio run by Daniel Flores in Jalatlaco, a colonial neighborhood and one of the most traditional barrios of Oaxaca. In this workshop we will use alternative techniques to create surfaces to etch by using tusche, aerosol, craquelure and Judea bitumen bag. The plates are etched with salts not acid and create unusual and beautiful results. You will each have 2 plates to work with; one traditionally for the foreground and one for the background. Daniel and his team will assist every step of the way. In the evenings we will visit some of the many printmaking studios in Oaxaca as well as eat some of the most amazing food anywhere.
Prerequisite: Some printmaking experience not limited to Etching
Tuition $2000 $1000 due upon registration $1000 due by November 7
