Learn to fabricate with mild steel in this workshop designed to acquaint you with an affordable alternative to precious metals. You will learn to manipulate and solder steel, inlay solder into steel, and finish steel for wearability. Being both strong and easily available, steel allows you to experiment without fear of expense or size. We will be utilizing the manufacturing process of water jet cutting, which will allow you to design and create multiples in order for you to quickly experiment and alter a basic design. This process can be a helpful foray into creating a uniform production line. Expect to complete a small collection of your own designs.

Registration deadlines:
November 4: register by this day in order to allow time for a phone consultation with Sarah and waterjet cutting of your personal designs.
November 8: students who register between November 5 - 8 will not be able to have their own designs cut; they will be provided with shapes to work with and will be able to participate in all other aspects of the class. It is not possible to register after November 8.

Prerequisite: Beginning Jewelry/Metals or equivalent.
