February 17-24 with Hugo Anaya - Join Kamla Kakaria and Romson Bustillo in a week long Monoprint workshop in Guanajuato, Mexico. Work with Mexican artist Hugo Anaya at his studio Piramidal Grafica in Guanajuato, Mexico. You will learn to make prints using traditional forms of printmaking in a new way. Work with plexiglass plates applying ink in thin layers wiping away and texturing to create quick results. You will also work with drypoint on copper and hand coloring. Chine Colle, transfer and direct offset techniques will be taught to add to the prints. Non-toxic materials are important in Hugo’s studio. Prerequisite: None Prerequisite: Students need to be comfortable with a moderate level of physical activity, including standing for periods of time and walking over uneven surfaces.
Tuition includes lodging for seven nights (Saturday to Saturday) giving students a day to explore Guanajuato before the workshop begins.
