Discover the fascinating medium of neon from its historical discovery and use in contemporary art to learning how to work with this unique medium in a dedicated studio space. From engaging in discussion topics to spending time in the fire to create your own neon art piece, you will gain knowledge and skills. Class will include an overview of the noble gases, 90-degree bends, U-bends, curves and fusing tubes as well as correct transformer loading and wiring with an emphasis placed on the completion of your own design. A basic bending kit and a transformer to power your completed project are included in the price of the class. There will also be two Open Studio days on Sept 30 and Oct 7 from 10AM until 4PM. No prerequisite is required. Please note that this class takes place at Western Neon. https://www.westernneon.com/
